In the rush of daily life as a physician, taking time to arrange ikebana helps me regain calm and balance.
Today’s piece features calla lilies and a unique three-mouthed vase.
Let me walk you through the thought behind it.

🟠 The Vase Chose the Flowers
I began this arrangement by choosing the vase—not the flowers.
The gentle curves of the three openings immediately drew me in.
🟣 Calla Lilies – Drawing Lines with Stems
To extend the curve of the vase, I needed a flower with graceful stems.
Calla lilies were the perfect choice—their elegant lines mirrored the vase beautifully.
🟡 Adding a Twist – Literally
You might notice that the shortest yellow calla bends more sharply than the others.
That’s not by chance—using a technique called “tame” (bending), I created intentional variation in movement.
🩺 Finding Stillness in a Demanding Life
As an emergency physician, my work is hectic.
But arranging flowers gives me a moment of stillness—a rare pause amid the chaos.
🏠 The Invisible Shift a Flower Brings
Even a single flower can change the mood of a room.
That’s not just visual—it reflects how you feel inside.
🌼 Why don’t you start a life with flowers?
You thought to yourself, “I need flowers because I’m busy.”
The first thing I tried was a flower subscription service👇. It’s affordable to start, easy to cancel, and fits right into your lifestyle.
A simple bouquet can bring peace to even the busiest days.
That’s what makes flower subscriptions so appealing.
