👨⚕️ Why a Doctor Turns to Flowers
As a general practitioner, my daily work is filled with complexity and urgency.
In contrast, arranging flowers helps clear my mind and reconnect with simplicity.
In this piece, I combined the bold, sweeping lines of Japanese rowan with the calm, rounded form of chrysanthemums.
It’s a modest arrangement, yet it brings dimensional depth to the space.
Like in medicine, ikebana involves observing small details and adjusting gently to find balance.
This quiet process feels not unlike patient care—both require attention, empathy, and presence.

🌸 Flower Materials
- Japanese Rowan
Known for its strong, sweeping branches and glossy leaves. A wild, natural feel. - Chrysanthemum
With its gentle tones and rounded form, it adds composure and balance.
🏺 About the Vase
A 30cm-tall white porcelain vase was chosen for its clean look.
Its minimal design enhances both the colors and flow of the materials.
💡 Notes on the Composition
- Used the natural curve of the branches for dynamic movement
- Positioned the chrysanthemums to create calm and visual depth
- Minimal yet spatially balanced composition
🧠 Where Medicine Meets Ikebana
Both practices value careful observation, responsive action, and the art of doing more with less.
💬 What Would You Create?
There’s no single “right” answer in ikebana.
How would you arrange these materials?

🌼 Why don’t you start a life with flowers?
You thought to yourself, “I need flowers because I’m busy.”
The first thing I tried was a flower subscription service👇. It’s affordable to start, easy to cancel, and fits right into your lifestyle.
A simple bouquet can bring peace to even the busiest days.
That’s what makes flower subscriptions so appealing.
