Magnificent autumn sunset over the Ashio Mountains from Hangetsuyama Observatory, Oku-Nikko, Tochigi. A sky dyed crimson and violet, layered ranges, a brocade of red, orange and yellow below. Far in the valley the Watarase River headwaters glint silver — a Japanese-scale capture of "the light at autumn's end".
