Niigata, Nagaoka — the climbing trail of a shell through crimson smoke

Nagaoka, Niigata. Crimson and orange smoke fills the whole sky, and in the upper right a white burst opens hard and bright. The two slender lines running straight up to it are the shell's own ascent — the climb from the riverbank into the night, left behind as a single burning trace. The left of the frame stays dark and quiet; along the very bottom, faint town lights bleed through. Every edge of this image is part of how it breathes, so the only print size we offer is 6-Cut Wide, which holds the full 3:2 frame with almost no cropping (the digital download carries the full frame too).
