As a doctor.
As a photographer.
A Japanese emergency physician's photography of Japan — between the ER and the landscape of flowers.
About Ikebanadoctor
A Japanese emergency physician, capturing the seasonal beauty of Japan.
I work as an emergency doctor in Japan, where time passes in a whirlwind and every second counts in life-saving procedures. On a quiet country path between shifts, I noticed seasonal flowers blooming — and Japan's quiet beauty caught my heart.
I want to gently deliver these small moments of Japanese beauty into your room, wherever you are in the world. From this thought, I started selling photographs I have taken across Japan as prints.
From the cherry blossoms of Yoshino to the fiery autumn maples of Kyoto, from Mt. Fuji's sacred peak to the lotus ponds of Tokyo — every photograph captures a real Japanese landscape, taken by my own hand. Japan's four seasons quietly compose our hearts amid the busyness of daily life.
Each print is then made by craftsmen at Aoyagi Photo Studio, a long-established Japanese photo lab founded in 1952, on authentic FUJICOLOR silver halide paper — the same materials Japanese masters have used for generations.
I would be most happy if these genuine pieces of Japan could find a place on your wall — somewhere your eyes naturally settle at the end of the day.
